On behalf of HDH Archery Malaysia and the Organising Committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the inaugural HDH-ASEAN Historical Archery Continental Championships 2026, to be held from 16–21 November 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
This championship represents the first continental-level Historical Archery Championship dedicated to the ASEAN region under the HDH International Archery Association (HDH-IAA).
The championship aims to celebrate our shared heritage, strengthen international friendship, promote cultural exchange, and advance the development of Historical Archery throughout ASEAN and beyond.
Archers, teams, national associations, clubs, officials, judges, and supporters from around the world are warmly invited to join us for this landmark occasion.

The flagship event of the championship conducted under HDH-IAA regulations.

Target presentations may vary in size, angle, visibility, and shooting position in accordance with HDH-IAA Rules and Regulations.

Championship Objective
To identify the best all-round Historical Archer through a balanced test of traditional archery skills across varying distances, target types, and shooting conditions.

B. LONG DISTANCE SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP

The Long Distance Shooting Championship is conducted in accordance with the HDH-IAA Long Distance Target Shooting Rules and is designed to test an archer's ability to judge distance, control elevation, manage arrow trajectory, and maintain consistency across extended ranges.

Format
• Five (5) Target Stations
• Distances ranging from 40 metres to 145 metres
• Ascending and Descending Shooting Sequence
• Qualification Round
• Finals Round

HDH-IAA Long Distance Target Shooting Format
Archers will shoot a series of targets positioned at progressively increasing distances before returning through the same distances in descending order.

The standard HDH-IAA Long Distance Target Shooting format consists of:
40m → 60m → 80m → 110m → 145m → 110m → 80m → 60m → 40m

This ascending and descending sequence is designed to test:
• Distance Judgement
• Shooting Consistency
• Arrow Trajectory Management
• Elevation Control
• Long-Range Accuracy

Championship Objective
To identify archers with superior long-distance shooting skills through a balanced test of precision, consistency, and adaptability across multiple target distances.

C. PAHLAWAN GAMES CHAMPIONSHIP

Urban Heritage Edition – Kuala Lumpur 2026

The Pahlawan Games Championship is a uniquely ASEAN archery challenge inspired by historical warriors, cultural exploration, heritage appreciation, and practical archery skills. Drawing inspiration from the successful Pahlawan Archery Challenge series, this Urban Heritage Edition combines Historical Archery, 3D Archery, Hunting Archery, and heritage exploration into a single championship experience. Participants will compete across five (5) thematic challenge stations located within Kuala Lumpur's heritage corridor. Inspired by adventure-race concepts, participants and teams will navigate between locations while completing archery-related tasks and heritage missions.

D. PANGKAS EXHIBITION CHAMPIONSHIP

Traditional Archery Heritage Game

PANGKAS is a traditional archery strategy game created by Yeop Mahidin and developed as a unique heritage-based archery discipline combining precision shooting, tactical decision-making, and team strategy. As part of the HDH-ASEAN Historical Archery Continental Championships 2026, PANGKAS will be featured as an official Exhibition Championship and ASEAN Heritage Demonstration Event.

ASEAN PARTICIPATION GRANT PROGRAMME

To support the development of Historical Archery throughout Southeast Asia, HDH Archery Malaysia is proud to establish the ASEAN Participation Grant Programme. Participants approved under this programme shall only be required to pay the standard HDH-IAA registration deposit of €99. The remaining participation fee shall be supported through sponsorships, fundraising initiatives, Founding Partners, and championship supporters.

• Allocated through HDH-IAA affiliated National Associations, National Federations, National Alliances, or officially recognised national representative bodies

ASEAN HERITAGE PASS

The ASEAN Heritage Pass is a special visitor programme designed to provide an immersive experience of the HDH-ASEAN Historical Archery Continental Championships 2026. More than a spectator ticket, the ASEAN Heritage Pass offers visitors the opportunity to engage with international archers, explore ASEAN cultural displays, participate in heritage activities, and experience the unique atmosphere of a continental historical archery championship.
