Historical Archery training

HDH-IAA is going to hold an International Judge - Historical Archery training program in conjunction with the Historical Archery World Championships 2025 in Gyula, Hungary.

Candidates successfully completing the training program will be qualified to act as Judge in international tournaments in the following historical archery disciplines:
- Classical Historical Targets
- Long Distance Target Shooting
- Flight Shooting
 
The training program will consist of academic lessons (history of archery, equipment, competition rules, ethics for athletes and judges, conflict resolving) and acting as assistant judge at the World Championships. Successful candidates will receive their certificates at the Awards Ceremony of the World Championships. 

The International Judge training starts on the 20th August 2025 morning and closes on the evening of the 26th. Candidates are required to complete all days.
 
Requirements for application:
- General knowledge of historical archery: history, equipment, events, competition styles
- Knowledge of HDH-IAA competition rules
- Prior experience as judge or organizer at (historical if available in country) archery competition(s) on local or national level
- Recommendation by a HDH-IAA member organization
- High ethical standards: No criminal records and fair competitor history 
- Fluency in English (written and spoken), good communication and conflict resolving skills, fast decision making and fair judgement 

 
The Judge course fee:

Participation fee 400 Euro.
IAA support 100 Euro.
In case of successful course 150 Euro refound on place.
Transfer to finalize registration: 300 Euro.
Deadline of transfer: 30-th of April 2025 to the registration fee account clearly indicating the participants name and that it is payment for judge’s course.

Candidates will get free accommodation and full boarding (half boarding), transfers during the training (both the academic and the assistant judge parts) 

Qualified International Judges may act at World and Continental Championships of HDH-IAA as well as on local and national level and may support their member organization in training of judges on local and national level.
